MOYVILLA / MOYVEELA

 

It is in the Dunkellin Barony (Part of) and in the E.D. of Stradbally. Thomas G. Vandaleur owned Moyveela in 1855. It consisted of 895 acres.

According to the tithes of 1827, John Burke owned 49 acres of 2nd grade land. William Mitchell owned 22 acres of 1st grade.

John Burke owned 6 acres of 2nd grade . Domnick Browne, Esq., owned 157 acres of 1st grade and 60 of 2nd grade land.

Thomas Fahy Jnr. owned 59 acres. Richard Burke owned 81 acres of 1st grade land, 5 acres of 2nd grade and 12 of 3rd grade land.

In 1841 there were 6 inhabitants and in 1851 there were 18 people, Pat Fitzpatrick owned 50 acres of 1st grade land. Mr William Ryan owned 39 acres of 2nd grade land.
