Description (John O’Donavan’s Townland index 1862):
It is the property of Mr. Burke. Half of this townland is deep bog, the remainder is under tillage. There stands a triangulation station near its centre. 291 feet above sea level and near its north side a small lake or pool, and at its north-east angle a marsh or lake called Loughtie.

It is situated 3 and quarter miles south-southeast of Monivea, bounded on the north by Derroogh, on the west by Tiaquin Demesne and Curmacoogh West, and south and east by Cloonkeen- Kerril parish.
