Membership Campaign

The ADC is a voluntary organisation and a community resource for organisations, groups and individuals in the parish. Our editorial provides details of some of the many campaigns and issues we are involved with locally. The ADC office responds quickly to any issues you might raise and campaigns constantly for a better quality of life in the Athenry area. As a voluntary organisation, the ADC relies on various sources of funding. One of the important sources is contributions from our members. The membership of the ADC has a broad representative base in the Athenry and Newcastle Parishes. However, we are always delighted to welcome new members and particularly the many new residents who have come to live in the area recently As part of our membership campaign a member of the Executive Committee will be visiting each household in the Parish to outline the benefits of membership of the ADC. The membership fee is very small but very valuable and allows us to continue our work.

Athenry Community Maintenance Services

Under the umbrella of the Social Economy Programme at the ADC we operate a Community Maintenance Service. We can provide general painting and decorating, gardening and carpentry at very reasonable rates. The team is supervised by that well-known veteran hurler and skilled carpenter Pat Higgins.

If you would like to know more about the work of the ADC, or you have any issues you would like help with contact the Project Manager: Bernadette O’Shea on 091 845422 or email: info@athenrv.com. Alternatively visit our office in Station Road, Athenry or visit our website: www.athenryadc.com. The door of the ADC is open to everyone five days a week, so we look forward to seeing you at ADC

Athenry Community Information Technology Centre

Do you want to know about computers and the internet but were afraid to ask?

In the autumn the ADC will be opening an Information Technology Centre. This Centre will be a resource for everybody to use. The focus of the Centre will be for you to learn in a relaxed and friendly environment. If you have little or no knowledge of computers but would like to learn – this is the place for you! So, be first in the queue and contact the ADC office today with your contact details.

Shop Local Campaign

Becoming a member of the ADC not only allows you to take an active part in the enhancement of the Athenry Parish and surrounding areas, but gives you the privilege of receiving the ADC Membership Discount Card. Most of the businesses in the Parish have joined the Shop Local Campaign whereby members of the ADC receive a discount on production of their membership card.
