The Mass was celebrated by newly ordained Father Gerard Quirke and he concelebrated it with Father Brendan Kilcoyne P.P., Athenry, Father Benny McHale C.C., Athenry and Father John O’Gorman, P.P., Lakagh, Turloughmore.

Helen Tully, Our Lady’s Well Committee, extended a warm welcome to Pilgrims and clergy, especially Father Quirke, who as a Deacon, served in Athenry Parish for some years. She also thanked those who contributed financially to the upkeep of this historic shrine and those past and present workers who give of their time to make the Well an attractive and spiritual place for everybody.

The Church Choir sang the entrance Hymn to begin the Mass 

Father Quirke begins the Mass assisted by Father Mchale, Father Kilcoyne and Father O’Gorman Staphanie O’Regan read the First Reading   Maura Hardiman read the Psalm  Father O’Gorman read the Gospel.          Father Quirke preached the Homily    Holy Communion was given by priests and Eucharistic Ministers           People doing the rounds of the Well 

Father Quirke ends Mass with the Blessing. Afterwards he gave his first blessing to the pilgrims.
